Erik Contreras, MD, is a knowledgeable, skilled, and practiced Internist. Dr. Contreras provides outstanding internal medicine, direct primary care, and concierge medicine services to patients 18 years and older at High Mark Internal Medicine in Prescott, Arizona.
A 3rd generation Arizonan, Dr. Contreras is dedicated to providing high-quality health care to the residents of Prescott and surrounding communities.
Dr. Contreras completed his undergraduate education at Arizona State University (ASU) in Tempe and then moved his family to Guadalajara, Mexico, to attend Autonoma de Guadalajara for medical school.
Dr. Contreras relocated to the United States four years later and continued training at New York Medical College (NYMC) in Valhalla, New York. He and his family then returned to Arizona, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Maricopa County Hospital.
Upon completion of residency, the family moved to Prescott, where Dr. Contreras is now a partner with NAZ Hospitalist Group (Northern Arizona Hospitalists), working at both Yavapai Regional Medical Centers.
Dr. Contreras has continued his development as a physician by taking on various roles at the hospital and within its administration. In addition to being a hospitalist and ICU physician, Dr. Contreras has been chair of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee and serves as Vice Chief of Staff for the hospital.
He proudly offers a clinic that allows extended appointments, annual exams, on-site lab draws, and chronic disease management for conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes.
